by Overseer Prophet Daniel Powell Sr.
Don't you know people spend a lifetime hating people that hurt them? Also, some people still hate people even after those individuals have passed away.
If we do not do these things, we grieve the Holy Spirit:
-Love our enemies.
-Do good to those who hate us.
-Bless those who curse us.
-Pray for those who spitefully use us.
The Holy Spirit cannot move in our lives if we grieve Him. He cannot move in our lives if He is grieving. For example, like a person naturally, when they are grieving, they are closed up and do not want to be bothered by anyone. That's the same way the Holy Spirit feels with us. He doesn't want to have anything to do what us when we grieve Him.
How Easy it is to Grieve the Holy Spirit
We have to follow the rules of the kingdom of God, and one of them is not to grieve the Holy Spirit.
"But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise." (Luke 6:27-31 NKJV)
This is all warfare, and if we do not respond to our enemies according to the ways we are taught in Luke 6:27-31, then we cause the Holy Spirit to be grieved.
When we preach, teach, and witness while we grieve the Holy Spirit, we are operating in our flesh. We must handle God's people with love and bless them. No matter what happens in life or what we go through, or who hates us. We have to speak the truth and put away lying.
When we don't speak truth, the Holy Spirit is grieved. The scripture in John 8:31-32 tells us that the truth shall set you free! It never said it'll make those free who you speak truth to, it only says you. When we lie and don't speak the truth, we are not set free. When we don't speak truth, we are kept in bondage.
"Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:31-32 NKJV)
Those who hear believe! Believers hear! We have to know the truth before we can speak the truth. The Holy Spirit is grieved when we don't speak the truth.
When we fellowship with our loved ones, friends, and family, and we see things that we know are not right, and we don't speak the truth, we are lying, and the Holy Spirit is grieved.
As we speak the truth, we are made free!
We cannot be afraid to speak the truth even if they are going to hate us. The Bible says we will be hated and persecuted just like they did Jesus.
"Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another. "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:25-32 NKJV)
But the Bible says that vengeance is the Lord's. So do not let the sun go down on your wrath. Release it (anger and wrath) and get delivered before the sun goes down. To be specific, the sun goes down before it gets dark. When we do not do this, the Holy Spirit grieves as we hold anger and wrath in our hearts.
We can't go up in the spiritual realm when we are holding stuff in our hearts. This allows the devil to come in our hearts. We cannot give a place for the devil to reside.
-Wrath is being extremely angry.
-Bitterness is anger and disappointment in how one was treated unfairly
-Anger is hostility, being hostile, ready to fight.
-Clamor is being loud, fussing, shouting, hollering.
-Evil speaking is speaking ill of others, which makes us like the one we speak evil against
-Malice is the intention or desire to do evil to someone or to do wrongfully to someone else.
We cannot operate by these fruits - (bitterness, anger, clamor, evil speaking, and malice). When we do, we are not operating in the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is a gentleman and a peacemaker. He does not get angry or cause you to sin. He is not hostile and never speaks evil about anyone. It does not matter what others say or do; you should not have anything evil to say about anyone.
As in Ephesians 4:32 this is who the Holy Spirit is and how we must live.
Be kind to one another
Be tenderhearted
Forgiving of one another, even as God in Christ forgave us

Giving is an expression of our love and trust in God. It is not a requirement, it is just an opportunity to honor Him. Aside from the supernatural results we will see in our own lives, we will also see lives changed around the world as we minister the Gospel. Your seeds help us feed the hungry and give back. Be confident that when you sow a seed into this ministry, it is sown in good ground and produces much fruit. Thank you for your support and partnership with Faith & Works Outreach Ministries.
