Sundays & Thursdays Teachings | June 2024 Blog Post ✍🏼✍🏽✍🏾✍🏿

Overseer Prophet Powell, Sr., has been teaching Heaven to Earth Worship Center about “The Jabez Pray/Anointing, the Goodness and Mercy of God, Mr.

Needs (The spirit we are not supposed to meet).”

“And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.” (‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬). The Jabez Prayer/Anointing is not upon everyone. Jabez was in pain and full of sorrow when he prayed his requests unto God, but his prayer changed his destiny. God granted Jabez what he requested in prayer. This resulted in a significant shift in his future. It does not take years for God to bless us indeed and for our territory to be enlarged. We have to remember not to rush God, asking Him how long it will take for our prayers to be answered. We do not know how long it took for Jabez’s prayer to be answered, but God granted Jabez his request.

Things to learn from Jabez

  1. Give up our fear and trust God.

  2. Submit ourselves to be holy to the Lord.

  3. Accept that our life is entirely in God’s hands.

  4. Do not try to manage things out of our control. There are a lot of things out of our control. (Jabez gave up trying to manage the curse he was under because of his name.)

Next, we were taught about God’s goodness; his goodness is His generosity. God’s goodness is everything that God is, everything that God has for you and desires for you and for you to experience (we can’t experience it outside of Him). He gives us beyond what we deserve. God’s mercy is not giving us what we do deserve = punishment or what He should hold against us. God’s goodness and mercy lead us to our wealthy place. For example, God gave Moses a second chance so he wouldn’t be stagnant. Moses had to bring the people of Israel out because of God's promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob!

Regarding needs, God does not want His people to be acquainted with this spirit. Many of God’s people struggle a lot because they want to be introduced to this spirit. People think if they don’t meet this spirit, they can’t be successful in life. Need takes people out of God’s glory, His will, kingdom, and the house of God. When we try to meet our needs, we try to work to the sweat of our brow and work until the day we die. But Jesus knows how to meet needs! Christ will ensure He gives us the wisdom and knowledge to provide us with what we need. He will also direct us, which is why we must have an ear to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying.

“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20 NKJV)
