How to be Partakers of the Promise Part III
We have no control over what God promises us, and we cannot tell Him what we want from His promises. But nothing can stop the promises that God has promised us, even when it appears that bad things or things that seem bad are happening to us. There are some things that have been designated to occur in our lives for things to come to pass. An example is Christ giving up His life on the cross.
There were seven promises that God promised Abram, and all of them came to pass even though things happened in his life. The Alpha and the Omega, the Lord God Almighty, only spoke these declarations to Abram, then told him/explained them to him, and then showed them to him. These are three steps that are a part of God's promises. The enemy tries to attack God’s people during the phases of time between the three steps.
Even though the enemy tries to attack us in these phases, we cannot forget the prophecies or word of God spoken to us. The Lord protected not only Abram from his nephew Lot He also protected Sarai from being touched and impregnated by anyone else because she was Abram’s wife and the promise had to be birthed through her. Lot had a problem with his flesh and had to be separated from Abram. When Lot chose the way he wanted to go, he chose darkness and sin. Once this was done completion occurred in Abram’s life.
Separation from family is required of us when we want the promises of God to come to pass in our lives. When separation from the things and spirits that are not of God no longer hinder us or hold us in bondage. Therefore, we must be trained on how to receive the promises of God, and we have to sometimes fight to receive them.
